I keep waking up in the morning extremely thirsty and cold cereal, vanilla soy milk and fruit is my breakfast remedy. Although I do love cereal, milk and fruit for breakfast I find that I am hungry again within three hours. I don’t typically like eating lunch until about 12:30-1pm so this leaves me flustered. I hate the “starving” feeling; I can never focus on anything other than how many more minutes I have until my next meal. I started trying out different snack bars and foods that will cover me for the hour or so until lunch. During my Target trip I came across mini cliff bars and these Archer Farms Pomegranate Raspberry real fruit bars drizzled with yogurt coating. I didn’t want anything too calorie packed, because then I would lose my appetite for a proper lunch. These sounded like a nice pick me up.At about 65 calories and 5 calories of fat they make the perfect little light snack. It was delicious, and I loved the yogurt coating. The only negative feedback I have is that it was a bit difficult to eat. Most pure fruit bars are tough and flat, this was extremely dense and hard to manage. I was sitting in class so I was able to pick at it but when I did try to take a bite straight from the bar, I found myself chewing it for a long time and had pieces stuck in my teeth. Flavor wise I loved it, and since it was slightly time consuming to devour it did keep me occupied during class (always the bonus of bringing snacks to class).
What do you like to eat to hold you over?
