I really think I could eat “sweet” for every meal/snack of the day. Granted, if I don’t have some sort of vegetable in my day I feel a bit off. Shortly after my snacky breakfast, I decided to give the Chocolate Green SuperFood another try. I thought that I was cheating a bit by adding so many other scrumptious flavors to my Peanut Butter and Jelly Bliss smoothie that I was essentially masking the product. I added a cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk to a packet of the Chocolate Green SuperFood and gave it a try.I was imagining chocolate milk. Although I could taste the cacao, it was still a little too bitter and “earthy” tasting for my sweet tooth. I decided that I could do better and added the remainder of my drink to a blender with 1 banana, a handful of frozen raspberries, 3 whole frozen strawberries and ice.
The smoothie version was MUCH better, and I ended up getting even more servings of fruit into my life! I think of the SuperFood mixes I’ve tried I prefer the chocolate the most when mixed into a fruit smoothie, and the Berry is the best on it’s own, when mixed in juice. On the side I had Ezekiel cinnamon raisin toast (YUMMMMM!!! All time favorite!) with a heaping TBS of crunchy almond butter, a heaping TBS of pumpkin butter and cinnamon. It was heavenly, and such a treat. The other piece had almond butter and organic raspberry jam since I was having an indecisive sweet tooth.
Other snacks today included dried fruit and nut tail mix, carrots, leftover squash and orange juice (very orange snack plates!!). At least the squash and carrots can count as daily vegetables but regardless, everything I’m eating today has been sweet, sweet, sweet!! At least it’s making me feel better about my swollen bug eyes. They seem to be getting better as the morning progresses, but are still so uncomfortable. It’s going to be one of those days that I don’t leave my apartment. As much as I hate not having full and active days, sometimes you just have to relax and allow yourself to heal and relish in the nothingness.
What do you do when you have a “lazy” stay at home day?
